Learning Paths
Learning Paths are structured courses that guide you from beginner to advanced proficiency. Each path combines videos, exercises, vocabulary, and assessments in a logical progression designed by language experts.
Finding Learning Paths
Browse available paths from Learn → Learning Paths. Filter by:
- Language: See paths for your active languages
- Level: Beginner (A1-A2), Intermediate (B1-B2), Advanced (C1-C2)
- Topic: General proficiency, Business, Travel, Academic, etc.
- Duration: 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6+ months
Learning Path Structure
Units & Lessons
Paths are organized hierarchically:
- Path: Complete course (e.g., "Spanish for Beginners")
- Units: Major topics (e.g., "Introductions", "Food & Dining", "Travel")
- Lessons: Individual learning sessions (15-30 minutes each)
- Activities: Videos, exercises, quizzes within each lesson
Lesson Components
Each lesson typically includes:
- Introduction: Learning objectives and key vocabulary preview
- Video Content: 1-3 videos demonstrating concepts in context
- Vocabulary Practice: Flashcards for new words
- Exercises: Interactive practice activities
- Assessment: Quiz to test understanding
- Summary: Review of what you learned
Enrolling in a Learning Path
- Browse Learning Paths and click on one that interests you
- Review the path description, level, and curriculum outline
- Click "Enroll" (some advanced paths require Premium subscription)
- Set your study schedule: Daily, Every other day, Weekends only, or Custom
- Start the first lesson immediately or schedule for later
🎯 Pro Tip
Choose a path that matches your current level or is slightly easier. It's better to build confidence and complete a path than to struggle with overly difficult material. You can always move to more challenging paths afterward.
Following a Learning Path
Linear Progression
Lessons unlock sequentially:
- Complete each lesson to unlock the next
- Pass unit assessments to progress to the next unit
- Maintain a minimum accuracy (usually 70%) to continue
Flexible Learning
While paths are designed to be followed in order, you can:
- Skip ahead if you demonstrate mastery in a placement test
- Revisit previous lessons anytime for review
- Practice vocabulary and exercises independently
- Pause your path and resume later without losing progress
Path Progress Tracking
Monitor your progress through:
- Completion Percentage: How much of the path you've finished
- Lessons Completed: X out of Y lessons done
- Time Remaining: Estimated time to complete based on your pace
- Current Streak: Consecutive days working on the path
- Mastery Score: Overall accuracy across exercises and quizzes
Study Schedule & Reminders
Stay on track with scheduled learning:
- Set specific days and times to study
- Receive reminders before scheduled sessions
- Adjust your schedule anytime as life changes
- Enable "Smart Reminders" to get nudges when you're likely to have free time
Path Certifications
Upon completing a learning path, you earn:
- Completion Certificate: Official SubLearn certificate with path name and date
- Achievement Badge: Display on your profile
- XP Bonus: Large XP reward for completion
- Skill Rating: Assessment of your proficiency level
Certificates can be downloaded, shared on LinkedIn, or included in your portfolio.

Multiple Paths
You can enroll in multiple paths simultaneously:
- Different paths for different languages
- General + specialized paths (e.g., conversational + business)
- Complementary paths (e.g., grammar + vocabulary building)
